ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The Fishers of Men Foundation was created June 2015 in the loving memory of Alfred S. Tunnell Jr. Alfred S. Tunnell had a passion for fishing from a young age. He was taught how to fish from his grandfather and father who were boats men and owned fish markets in Lewes, DE. Alfred followed in his fathers footsteps and was formally trained by the United Coast Guard and had been sports fishing until his untimely death. Alfred not only was an expert fisherman but his concern was that young people having an opportunity to attend college or trade school. As an entrepreneur, Alfred instilled cole values of hard work, dedication and commitment into his children and many people he came in contact with
MISSION
Not only was his mission to help people but to spread a message of hope and faith in God to a dying generation. One of his favorite passages of scriptures was, "Matthew 4:19 KJV And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Therefore, The Fishers of Men Foundation is a faith based organization that will assist one deserving high school senior every year with a monetary scholarship to attend the college or trade school of their choice. The foundation consisted of seven board members who will vote to select the student who will receive the yearly scholarship.
The following qualifications are required to receive the scholarship:

Student must be a US Citizen

Student must be a high school senior

Student must have GPA of 2.5 or higher

Student must be active in community services and projects

Student must be accepted into a College/University or Trade school prior to receiving the Scholarship

Student must be active in school activities and possess a good citizenship attitude in and out of school

Student must apply for the scholarship by completing the application and essay

Student must provide letter of acceptance from school

2015-16 Application will be available October 1, 2015.

Application and Essay must be signed, completed and returned no later than April 1, 2016.

Dorothy M. Tunnell, Wife of the late Alfred S. Tunnell Jr. Mrs. Tunnell is an entrepreneur and licensed Cosmetologist in the state of Delaware for over 35 years. In addition, Mrs. Tunnell is the pastor and founder of Light Outreach Fellowship Ministries in Dover, DE.
Jammie L. Fields, son of the late Alfred S. Tunnell Jr. Jammie is a graduate of DoverHigh School (Dover, DE) and the industrial trade school in Texas. He is faithful employee in the airlines industry and father of three sons.
Alfred S. Tunnell III, son of the late Alfred S. Tunnell Jr. Al is a graduate of Dover High School and Delaware State University (Dover, DE) with a BA in Business management. He is the founder of the Delaware Warriors Baseball Organization and the father of three children.Al is also a member at Light Outreach Fellowship Ministries.
Turkessa T. Harris, the daughter of the late Alfred S. Tunnell Jr. Turkessa is a graduate of Dover High School and completed her education at Temple University (Philadelphia, PA) majoring in Mass Communications and Music Therapy. Turkessa is the CEO and founder of The Keys Productions, a record label and management company. Turkessa is an active member and elder at her church, Light Outreach Fellowship Ministries in Dover, DE. She is the mother of one son.
Isaiah S. Greene, the oldest grandson of the late Alfred S. Tunnell Jr. Isaiah graduated from Dover High School and Delaware State University (Dover, DE) with a BA in Business management. He is currently working in the Delaware public school system and coaches baseball for the Delaware warriors organization. He is the father of one daughter.
Sonja B. Tunnell, wife of Alfred S. Tunnell III. Sonja has been a dedicated and committed employee of the Capital School District office for over 20 years upon graduating from Dover High School. Sonja enjoys taking care of their three children and enjoys helping her students, parents and colleagues become better people in her community. Sonja is a member at Light Outreach Fellowship Ministries.
E. Nathan Harris, husband of Turkessa T. Harris. Nathan is a graduate of Martin Luther King High School and Gywnedd Mercy University (Philadelphia, PA) with a BA in Business Administration. He currently works as a payroll manager for a fortune 500 company in PA. Nathan also serves faithfully at his church (New Hope Holy Commandment Temple) and his family. He is the father of four children.
